Quality

Marco Veilleux

"Prevost places a lot of importance on ongoing improvement, even if it's difficult and not the easy path. This requires effort and sacrifice on the part of employees - we have to do what's best."

René Arsenault, trainer, 15 years with Prevost

PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE

Our commitment to quality began with our founder, Eugene Prevost, a master craftsman who insisted on the finest workmanship. Today, his legacy continues, with our never-ending quest for continuous improvement, and our dedication to sustainability.

We always have, and always will, do things that others won't or can't in our pursuit of excellence.

Manufacturing

Durability starts with micro-precision assembly, and our "zero-tolerance assembly" jig is a striking demonstration. Its precision in calibration maintains perfect alignment and positioning while each piece of the stainless steel structure is being welded.

This innovative approach ensures that the vehicle has maximum resistance to stress and deformation. Its structural integrity will result in maximum riding comfort and performance that stands the test of time.

Process

Système de Production Prèvost (SPP) is our lean manufacturing production system, introduced at Prevost in 1995. It is based on Toyota’s world-renowned process.

In addition to using such well-known tools as Kaizens, 5S and process mapping, SPP also taps the brain power of all our employees and incorporates lessons learned from their skills, knowledge and experience into the improvement processes.

With SPP, Prevost has become much more efficient in all areas. Our products, and ultimately our customers, benefit from the continuously improving quality of everything we do.

Sustainability

Every aspect of our operations – from manufacturing and testing processes to our Parts and Service Centers – is designed to minimize impact on the environment.

In partnership with our parent company, the Volvo Bus Corporation, we continually strive to incorporate new, environmentally friendly technologies into our products. A few recent innovations include the Prevost Exhaust Diffuser, Diesel Particulate Trap, and our installation of the new Volvo D13 diesel engine, which meets Tier IV emissions regulations.

Certifications

Our meticulous attention to quality has earned our manufacturing and after-sales operations the prestigious IS0 9001:2000 certification.

Our concern for the environment has led to ISO 14001 certification (environmental protection) for our manufacturing processes. Prevost was the first North American motorcoach manufacturer to earn these certifications.
